Crayola Washable Paint and baby soap
Bath paint mixed together using Crayola Washable Project Paint

I have a creative toddler. She has left her masterpiece mark on my walls, floors, stairs, and pretty much every square inch of fabric she can reach. I knew there were bath paint options that included food coloring, but I happen to like my child and my tub stain-free, so I decided to try using washable paint instead. The result? A nicely pigmented, brightly colored, quick activity for my Picasso-wannabe child.

So Here’s What I Did:

I decided to recycle a fun plastic container that I saved from one of my kids’ snack packs. I intentionally chose something that would float in the water and that had separate compartments for the different colors. The goal was to eliminate the need for her to reach in and out of the tub for more paint so I could keep the ‘artwork’ contained. You could use a styrofoam egg carton as long as you wash it out first, or really any other material that will float and hold paint.

To make the paint I mixed about a teaspoon of Crayola washable project paint with roughly the same amount of Johnsons baby soap. You could probably use less paint and still get a nicely pigmented color, but I wanted something really vibrant!

Just mix and set up for your kiddo to play! I had her wash the paint off when she was finished rather than let it dry just in case it would stain from being on too long. It washed off super easily! Hurray!

Enjoy!
